FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes. I offer a free 30-minute screening meeting on Zoom. This is an opportunity to discuss your child’s needs, your main concerns, and whether my services may be a good fit for your family.
Where do you provide services?
I am now providing autism and behaviour consultation services on the Sunshine Coast, BC. Some parts of the process, such as the screening meeting, can be completed online through Zoom.
What ages do you work with?
I provide services for children ages 6 and up with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities.
What happens after the screening meeting?
After the screening meeting, a Service Agreement and Consent Contract are completed before services begin. The next step is usually an observation and assessment of your child.
Where does the assessment take place?
The assessment is typically conducted in the home setting, but it can also take place in another environment that best suits your family’s needs.
What is included in the behaviour plan?
Following the assessment, I create an individualized behaviour plan based on your child’s specific needs. The plan may include recommendations, strategies, goals, and supports for meaningful progress in everyday situations.
Do you work with Behaviour Interventionists?
Yes. During intervention, I train the hired Behaviour Interventionist to apply the individualized behaviour plan and monitor progress through data collection and ongoing plan adjustments.
Do you provide parent training?
Yes. Parent training may be included when families need support with specific behaviour management strategies, routines, or skills that can be used in everyday life.
